Zjoosh is a brand which is all about women. We employ over 120 women (and a few good men) and create and sell products almost exclusively for women.
While I know and understand that there has never been a better time to be a woman, I am also here to tell you that I work with enough women to know that it can still be damn hard. It’s the mental load of being mothers and daughters which is something we feel every single day. Don’t even get me started on the hormonal changes we experience from girlhood till middle age which can swing like a pendulum and loop round and around.
My nature is to default to the positive and whilst it is broadly agreed that it is absolutely NOT always a bed of roses, I do often reflect on the fact that I am just so glad I’m a woman. I LOVE being a mum to girls and working with women has sustained me through my adult life in a way that I find deeply fulfilling in a myriad of ways.
Zjoosh is comprised of a team which spans the ages of 16 to 70. We have grown a lot over the past 12 years and while we don’t always get everything right, I feel as though I am finely tuned to know an excellent woman when I meet one.
We have a type. Zjoosh women are good women. We listen to each other and work together to reach our common goal. We don’t do heroes and we don’t do mean. We don’t linger on the negative. We are kind to those we work with and to our customers. These qualities are stated in our Zjoosh Core Values which form part of every contract of employment. To provide a safe and welcoming place to work for women of all ages, cultures and skill sets is at the very root of everything we do.
