On Trend: Return of the Skinny Scarf
ON TREND: RETURN OF THE SKINNY SCARF – GO FROM THE DESK TO DINNER IN EFFORTLESS STYLE
by: Kellie Rigney
These skinny black and white scarves are just about the chicest and easiest go-to accessory in my wardrobe right now. Monochromatic in colour and made from pure silk, they’re a simple but elegant little solution to ‘zjoosh’ up an outfit without going too overboard. Worn instead of a necklace they can turn a casual look into a confident fashion statement. I wear them to work during the day and then out for dinner afterwards, paired with a simple white tee shirt, black coated jeans and blazer. You can wear it with a blazer to look smart and sophisticated, or instead with a leather jacket for a more cool and edgy look.
Depending on your personality you can tie them in a number of different ways: draped loosely around your neck, tightly as a ‘choker’, or even tied in a bow at the neck for a cheeky, feminine look. Here are a few celebrities I’ve chosen that wear the skinny black scarf well, but, of course, everyone’s style is personal. I wrap it twice around my neck then leave the ends to hang loose, but do it your own way, and make it your own.
