Fun fact - Hermès bags and boxes were not always orange. They began as beige and then mustard coloured imitation pigskin with gold edges. During World War II and the Nazi occupation of Paris rationing meant that certain dyes and other materials needed to make these boxes were difficult to procure. Paper was available as was orange dye, and so the iconic Hermès orange box was born. 🧡
