The Silver Lining Host Playbook
THE SILVER LINING HOST PLAYBOOK

Our grandparents knew the value of silver when it came to entertaining. There’s something so glamorous and gorgeous about walking into a big occasion party or lunch with close friends and seeing silver jugs, buckets, platters or trays – the latter filled with champagne glasses. It instantly sets the tone and speaks of old-world elegance in a fun, Great Gatsby-ish kind of way. Silver entertaining goods also make fantastic and meaningful gifts. My husband and I received three wine buckets for our wedding 18 years ago and we still use them today (just last weekend, actually). And for any of you fans of Downton Abbey style, silver trays and jugs look just lovely in glass fronted cabinets.
But did you know that silver entertaining goods are dual purpose, meaning you don’t have to wait only for ‘best’ to bring them out? Silver ice buckets can be used for orchids, cyclamens and other plants; cute small jugs are perfect for small posies of peonies or fresh gardenias on a bedside table; taller wine buckets pair well with a cymbidium orchid. Here are a few of our latest and greatest silver treats to treat yourself or gift to a loved on. Kellie
