On a recent trip to Portugal, I found myself drawn to a beautiful store surrounded by crowds of people. I quickly realised it was Benamôr,  the very same brand we’d been enjoying in the hotel we were staying at, where every detail felt thoughtful, indulgent and just so lovely.

What truly piqued my curiosity was that almost everyone in the store was Korean. Known worldwide for having some of the highest beauty standards, their enthusiasm immediately caught my attention. When I stepped inside, I understood why. Benamôr is a true beauty wonderland. So rich in colour, fragrance, history and soul.

The products we’d used at the hotel were from the Gordíssimo range which is a sweet, comforting scent with soft honey notes that instantly felt nurturing. But in store, there was so much more to discover. I fell in love with Rose, which to me smelled completely nature-identical, and Jacarandá, which I was especially excited about. As a Sydneysider, that fragrance stirred all kinds of warm, nostalgic feelings. I hadn’t seen jacaranda captured in a beauty product before.

Beyond the scents, I was completely fascinated by the brand’s history. Benamôr is over 100 years old and was originally created for the Queen of Portugal. That sense of heritage and authenticity runs through every product.

And then there was the Miracle Face Cream. Honestly, it had me at “miracle.” I bought a tube on the spot — and I’m now onto my second. Created from Benamôr’s legendary 1925 skincare recipe, this cult favourite is enriched with soothing organic rose concentrate and powerful anti-blemish ingredients. It targets five key skincare concerns: hydration, toning, the appearance of pores, blemishes and dullness. Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, it instantly hydrates, brightens and evens the complexion. It truly lives up to its name.

I also picked up their hand creams, made with all-natural ingredients and infused with nourishing shea butter for soothing even the driest hands. I brought some back as gifts for our Head Office team, and the response was immediate. Everyone loved it.
