Investing in Cashmere
High quality cashmere pieces will last you for years to come! Durable and soft yet lightweight and warm, cashmere knitwear is timeless and will be a staple in your winter wardrobe for years to come. When considering cashmere is it important to understand how to best care for the natural fiber.
How to wash cashmere
When washing cashmere it is important to always refer to the manufacturer's care instructions however Zjoosh recommends the following steps. Always use gentle detergents or cashmere/wool approved wash when caring for your cashmere. Submerge the cashmere in cold or lukewarm water, moving gently to remove any dirt. Allow to soak for no more than 15 minutes, gently squeezing out any excess water (do not wring).
How to dry cashmere
When treating cashmere at home, it is important cashmere is dried properly to ensure longevity. Gently patting out excess water and laying on an absorbent towel ensure the fibers are preserved. Lay the washed cashmere jumper or accessory flat on a towel to dry, in it's original shape. Due to the delicate nature of the cashmere fiber, drying flat and in the original shape ensures the cashmere doesn't drop (opposed to hanging the piece out to dry).
